Cardiff Comets

Recently we have been involved with the Cardiff Comets ladies ice hockey team who play in division one of the national women's league.

I have had a great time photographing this fast paced and highly technical sport and look forward to covering more of the comets games next season.

Help Portrait 2010

It's that time of year again.
Help Portrait Day is this Saturday. The event is world wide but me and some other local photographers will be doing our little bit down at the top club in Machen. After the success of last year (see the video on you tube via this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pf8O1uO3f60) we are expanding the event which will now be held in the large downstairs hall at the club. Update From The Frontline...

Afternoon everyone. Sorry it's been a while since I've posted here. We are very busy with portrait sittings at the moment, with people ordering gifts for Christmas.
In fact I've just put the two latest sessions on line over at www.jnorthphoto.co.uk
There is still time to book in before Christmas but spaces are filling up and with the deadlines we have from the printers and framers we can't really photograph much into December and guarantee Christmas delivery.

The Latest News From J North Photography

Morning all.
Just a quick update on the lastest goings on here.
First of all I should mention that the website has moved, you can now find us at www.jnorthphoto.co.uk
The .com may be resurected at some point but for now just use the .co.uk.
We still have free portrait shoots available so if you are interested please get in touch.
The really big news around these parts is that we have just had the pictures back from the African photo project. I'm really pleased with the results, it's just going to take some time to work my way through all the images. I will share some of the photographs with you here before long.
The hope always was to try and publish a book that could be sold to generate money for the Maasai Heritage Preservation fund (http://www.cycleforafrica.co.uk/index.php) and I think we have enough photographs to do that.
Anyway, that's all for now.

The Doctor Visits Caerphilly

O.K, I'm a little late in posting this. As many of you may know for a few weeks before Christmas the Tardis was parked atop one of the towers of Caerphilly castle.

Got this shot early in the morning a day or two after it first appeared thinking it wouldn't be there very long. In the end I would have had plenty of time to get a shot.

It's a video that was shot during Help-Portrait day back before Christmas.
If you look closely you will see milling about and occasionally taking some photographs.

Help-Portrait

Hello everyone,

Coming up this December team jnorthphoto along with other local photographers are getting involved in Help-Portrait day.

The brainchild of celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart, Help-Portrait is a movement of photographers, coming together in every major city, to use their photography skills to give back to the community. On December 12th, photographers around the world will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need, and taking their picture.When the prints are ready, the photographs get delivered. Money isn't involved here, it's a charitable event.

A Mega Success

Megaday weekend was once again a huge success with thousands of pounds being raised for charity.

Music fans filled the tent at Caerphilly rugby club on both Saturday and Sunday. Once again the bands who played and the volunteers who helped run the event did a wonderful job.
